Daniel Timotheos (Yohannan) grew up in the ministry of GFA World. His parents, K.P. and Gisela Yohannan, founded GFA World (then called Gospel for Asia) when Daniel was 3 years old. As his parents kept a demanding ministry schedule, Daniel and his younger sister traveled with them to Asia every summer visiting different areas of the mission field.
At a young age, Daniel sensed the Lord calling him to reach those who had never heard the Gospel. After high school, he went to South Asia to attend seminary, where he graduated with a theological degree. Shortly after graduation, Daniel remained on the mission field to provide leadership and help minister in some of the most unreached areas of Asia. While there, he had the privilege to be part of establishing a local church.
Daniel’s hunger for studying and teaching God’s Word continued to grow, and he was eager to accept the Lord’s calling to pastor a church at the seminary. In 2005, he married his wife, Erika. Erika shared his passion for missions, and together they dedicated their lives to see untold millions reached with the love of Christ.
In 2008, he and Erika moved back to Texas, where Daniel soon began serving full time as vice president of GFA World. As a gifted teacher and communicator, he traveled within the United States and to other countries to speak at conferences and churches on behalf of the ministry.
Daniel has always had a deep passion to see young people raised up to serve the Lord. Along with his role as President of GFA World, Daniel provided leadership to the School of Discipleship, a one-year intensive program for young adults to grow in their walk with God while serving behind the scenes with our staff at GFA World.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, the School of Discipleship was transformed into the six-month Ministry Apprenticeship Program, where single adults receive the opportunity to experience what it is like to do ministry behind the scenes at GFA World. Daniel continues to provide leadership to this program.
In March 2017, Daniel was consecrated as a bishop in Believers Eastern Church. It was then that he received the ecclesiastical name Timotheos.
Today, as president of GFA World and a bishop of Believers Eastern Church, Daniel spends his time serving and leading the GFA World headquarters in Texas. He also visits the mission field throughout the year, where he ministers alongside many other bishops and leaders. He continues to travel all over around the world to speak on behalf of the ministry. He also provides regular teachings to the GFA World staff and ministry partners.
His wife, Erika, continues to serve alongside him in ministry. They have three children.
